The Shanghai Art Museum hosted the first exhibition of Tadao Ando's architecture in China. This exhibition on the theme of "Architecture and Environment" attracted more than 200,000 visitors, and it was hailed by the media as the first real architecture exhibition in China. We met a lot of people from the same field because of the moving experience at the exhibition. Together, we expanded our reading of books related to Mr. Ando and followed his footsteps, around the world to read about architecture, art, people, and times. We experienced Mr. Ando's simple yet profound spatial artistry, it is always able to awaken one's inner self-consciousness and connect to the light of the origin that resides deep in the universe.

"Tadao Ando: Endeavors" was opened at the National Art Center, Tokyo. On an unprecedented international scale, the exhibition pays tribute to more than half a century of the master's architectural achievements. Mr. Ando himself said, "It has been almost 50 years since I founded my office in 1969. Over the years, I would rather say that I have been challenged to get to where I am and that I have lived my life in my own way, trying my best."

"Tadao Ando: Leading" was held as a sister exhibition of the Tokyo Exhibition. The exhibition was opened in "the Light Space", a space designed by Mr. Ando that includes the Pearl Art Museum and Xinhua Bookstore. It was a meaningful event, and it is a 12-year reincarnation of his first exhibition in China. The theme of this exhibition is "Leading", which echoes and complements the "Endeavors" of the Tokyo exhibition. With the books as the main line, the exhibition aims to restore Mr. Ando's spiritual journey as an architect, writer, reader, artist, photographer, and practitioner of life. We hope that this "the Light Space", which Mr. Ando himself created, will bring people together to keep reading, return to moving, sharing, and inspiring each other, and thus find the light that leads to hope in life.

#JOURNEY OF LIGHT
The exhibition begins from the moment the viewer enters the gallery space. On the wall at the entrance is a video of the Tokyo-Shanghai exhibition. On the wall leading to the gallery, the largest exhibit is laid out ——The design and construction history of the Pearl Museum of Art. The ovoid shape of the building breaks with the geometric order of Ando's design, presenting a sense of biological rhythm, embodying spirituality and signifying the beginning of all things, life, and renewal.

#LIGHT OF THOUGHTS
Through the dim tunnel needs light to lead. Consists of a high-density display of books, images, and video materials from Tadao Ando's 5 eras, 10 events, 100 related characters, 200 books and 300 works. Exploring the influence of the origin and composition of Tadao Ando's thought.

#LIGHT OF ART

The series of projects on Naoshima, the island that reaches the heart, are landscapes created by Ando. Burying buildings underground, Ando utilizes a method that emphasizes the natural topography without damaging the original landscape. On the giant geoscape are five of Ando's representative projects in Naoshima. Benesse House Museum, Benesse House Oval, Chichu Art Museum, Benesse Artsite Park Building/Beach Building, and Lee Ufan Museum.

#LIGHT OF CREATION

Architectural creations, furniture creations, product creations, and expression creations. From three of Tadao Ando's recent projects in China to his photographic works with his own architecture as the subject, the viewer is able to get a comprehensive view of the charm of Ando's work and his creativity.
